| Opposing teams picking on Darrelle Revis usually falls under the category of Bad Ideas. But maybe that will be a viable option for a change when the Jets host Baltimore on Monday night in the season opener for both teams.
Sure, Revis is a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback, but he'll be very rusty after a 36-day holdout, right?
"I can certainly see them doing that," Ryan said of the Ravens potentially targeting Revis. "Guy missed all of training camp, so they should do that. Find him and go [toward] him, and go [toward] him often."
Of course, Ryan was trying to suppress a grin while he said all of that. Plus, the former Ravens' defensive coordinator doesn't think his old team will do that.
"They're smarter than that," Ryan said. |

| NFL Power Poll: Packers' expectations soar, but Jets still No. 1 Green Bay is the smallest market in the NFL, but no team has created more buzz over the past month. Although last season's 7-1 finish has played a part, the attention is largely based on the unstoppable preseason performance of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the offense. The players have accepted the high expectations without letting the hype get to them. "I don't see a problem with it," tight end Jermichael Finley said. |

| To Ryan Mathews, there's a distinction: he's following LaDainian Tomlinson, not trying to replace the great running back. After showing his speed and power in the limited context of exhibition games, Mathews gets to unleash it full-time when the San Diego Chargers begin pursuit of their fifth straight AFC West title Monday night at Kansas City. |

| A sheepish Chad Henne recalls attempting the sort of desperation pass a young college quarterback will try: Under pressure, on his heels, heaving a prayer to a tall teammate in the end zone. More than once, Braylon Edwards came down with the ball for a Michigan touchdown. "It would happen a couple of times," Henne says. |

| Third down has a new meaning in the NFL this season. Season ticket sales declined for the third year in a row as teams struggle to get fans to the stadium in a weak economy. Depending on the final numbers, season ticket sales will be down between 1 percent and 2 percent, according to Eric Grubman, the league's executive vice president for business ventures. |
