| During training camp and preseason, Jake Delhomme looked like a rejuvenated quarterback one year removed from throwing eight touchdown passes and 18 interceptions with the Carolina Panthers.
But starting Sunday with a road game in Tampa the defenses testing Delhomme will be more exotic and more tenacious than those he faced in August when he completed 38 of 48 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns. His passer rating was a glittering 110.5. In his final year in Carolina his passer rating was 59.4.
"I keep saying it over and over—it's a fresh start for me," Delhomme said after practice Monday. "It's new and it's exciting. I enjoy the guys, I enjoy our locker room and I enjoy the way the guys work. |

| NFL Power Poll: Packers' expectations soar, but Jets still No. 1 Green Bay is the smallest market in the NFL, but no team has created more buzz over the past month. Although last season's 7-1 finish has played a part, the attention is largely based on the unstoppable preseason performance of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the offense. The players have accepted the high expectations without letting the hype get to them. "I don't see a problem with it," tight end Jermichael Finley said. |

| Resting on the top shelf of Jake Delhomme's locker are a ratty set of shoulder pads, hand-me-downs from New Orleans teammate Billy Joe Tolliver. Delhomme brought the well-worn equipment with him to Cleveland after seven seasons in Carolina. He wears them during training camp because they're much lighter than new ones, and any break from the summer's heat helps. |

| A look at the strengths, weaknesses, rehab issues and what to expect in the AFC North, as provided by SN's NFL correspondents: Baltimore Ravens The strength: The Ravens play outstanding run defense. They have two great run stoppers in DTs Kelly Gregg and Haloti Ngata, and they have linebackers who can run in Ray Lewis, Jameel McClain, Terrell Suggs and Jarret Johnson. Most important, seldom do you see their linebackers off their feet. The weakness: The secondary is suspect because the Ravens lack a legitimate star in the starting group. |

| David Veikune went from outside linebacker to outsider with the Browns. The team waived the disappointing second-round draft pick Tuesday, cutting ties with the former Hawaii defensive end that Cleveland tried to convert into a linebacker for its 3-4 system. The Browns used the No. 52 overall pick in last year's draft to select Veikune (VAY-coo-nay), a 6-foot-2, 257-pounder. |
